Ribbon Communications created a smaller and smarter Session Border Controller (SBC) in response to the trend of smaller and smarter communications devices. The SBC 2000 Session Border Controller is a sophisticated SBC that has been independently verified for performance and provides robust security and network compatibility. The SBC 2000 configurations are built for ease of use and expansion. A simple licence can permit both session and port expansion remotely, avoiding the requirement for a truck-roll and an on-site specialist.

The Ribbon SBC 2000 also has a large number of I/O and call capacities, as well as built-in survivability for Microsoft Skype for Business, Polycom, BroadSoft, and other SIP/TDM/FXx clients, so calls can continue even if the WAN goes down.
